Trendyol Commission Refunds and Overcharge Disputes

Detect overcharged commission, file the right dispute, and collect every penny you're owed

Trendyol commission refunds don't land in your bank account as cash the way most sellers assume — the commission on a canceled or returned order is credited back by being deducted from your next invoice. Rates that vary from 5% to 40% by category can sometimes be overcharged because of an incorrect category assignment or an outdated contract. This guide walks you through, step by step, how to spot an overcharged commission, how to file a dispute, and how to verify your payout.

Quick answer

On Trendyol, commission isn't refunded in cash — the commission on a canceled or returned order is automatically deducted from your next invoice. If you suspect an overcharge, check the rate under Seller Panel > Agreement Info and file a dispute with support. Approved disputes are usually resolved within 5-10 business days, while you only have 3 business days to dispute a penalty score.

How does Trendyol's commission refund work?

Contrary to what most sellers assume, Trendyol doesn't refund commission as cash into your bank account. When an order is canceled or a customer returns it, the commission charged on that order is automatically credited back to your account — but that credit shows up as a deduction on your next commission invoice, not a direct payment. In other words, the commission you already paid gets subtracted from your net payout in the following period. This mechanism has a direct impact on categories with high return rates (clothing and footwear, for example, often see 20%-30% return rates). If you don't track invoice offsets, you won't notice whether the commission refund you're actually owed has been reflected in your payout — which is why you need to cross-check every commission invoice against the returns list.

How do you spot an overcharged commission and file a dispute?

Overcharged commission usually comes from an incorrect category assignment, a misapplied campaign rate, or an outdated contract rate that was never updated. For example, if a product's actual category carries an 8% commission rate but the system files it under an 18% subcategory instead, you lose the difference on every single order. The dispute process is simple but requires follow-up: first check the rate in your agreement details, then compare it against the invoice line item, and report the discrepancy to support with documentation. Trendyol typically returns a review decision within 5-10 business days; an approved difference isn't paid in cash — it appears as a deduction on your next invoice.

  • Check the rate — Look up your product's current contract rate under Seller Panel > Agreement Info.
  • Compare it to the invoice — Match the category and rate on your commission invoice against your agreement.
  • File a documented dispute — If there's a discrepancy, contact support with the order number, amount, and a screenshot.
  • Follow up on document requests — Submit any additional information support asks for within 24-48 hours.
  • Verify the offset — Confirm the approved difference actually appears as a deduction on your next invoice.

What determines Trendyol's commission rates?

The commission rate isn't a fixed number — it varies by category, seller level, and certain special programs. As of 2026, the general range runs from 5% to 40% depending on category (with premium segments like fashion and accessories trending toward the upper end). Sellers with women-entrepreneur status can qualify for special discounted rates of 1.80%-5.50% in certain categories. Sellers who reach Level 4 status can pay 2.5%-7% less than the standard rate in specific categories and brands. Commission is always calculated on the sale price excluding VAT, but the invoiced commission amount has 20% VAT added on top — which increases the net total.

Application Commission Rate Range Note
General category average 5% - 40% Approaches the upper limit in premium categories (e.g., fashion/accessories)
Women-entrepreneur seller 1.80% - 5.50% Applies in specific categories and conditions
Level 4 seller discount 2.5% - 7% below the standard rate Applies to certain categories and brands
VAT application +20% VAT on the commission amount Shown separately in the invoice total

Rates are approximate and vary by category; always confirm the current rate in the Agreement Info screen.

Disputing a penalty score: don't miss your 3-business-day window

Before applying a violation/penalty score deduction, Trendyol gives sellers only 3 business days to dispute it. If you don't file your dispute within that window with the required documentation (proof of delivery, customer messages, stock records, etc.), the score is processed permanently and you lose any chance to correct it. If the dispute is accepted, the violation score is removed entirely; if it's rejected, the reasoning appears in the panel and you don't get a second chance to dispute the same issue. As penalty scores accumulate, they also hurt store visibility, search ranking, and eligibility for campaigns — which is why checking notifications daily and keeping documentation ready in advance is the only way to complete a dispute within the 3-day window.

Once 3 business days pass, your right to dispute a penalty score closes automatically — prepare your documentation the day you receive the notification; don't leave it until the last day.

How do you review your commission invoice, and how does it affect your payout?

You can access your commission invoice under Seller Panel > Finance > Invoices; each invoice lists commission line items by period, category, and order. When checking the net amount reflected in your payout, keep in mind that return/cancellation offsets, shipping deductions, and commission are all shown together on the same invoice — so you need to review it line by line rather than looking at the total balance. If the amount on the invoice doesn't match the commission you calculated yourself, the difference is likely due to an incorrect category or campaign rate; catching this discrepancy early prevents accumulated overcharges from going unnoticed for months.

Automate your commission tracking with Ecomiro

With hundreds of orders across dozens of categories, checking every invoice by hand isn't realistic. Ecomiro's Analytics & Reports module automatically compares the expected commission rate against the actual deduction on an order-by-order basis and alerts you the moment it detects a discrepancy — so you catch overcharges before the invoice is even issued. You don't need to waste time drafting your dispute either: the AI Assistant module automatically generates the dispute text to send to support once you enter the order number and the amount of the discrepancy. When these two modules work together, commission tracking shifts from weekly manual checks to daily automated monitoring.

FAQ for this guide

Trendyol doesn't refund commission in cash; the commission on a canceled or returned order is calculated automatically and comes back to you as a deduction on your next commission invoice. When checking your payout, you need to compare the current invoice against the previous period's return list.

First, check your product's current commission rate under Seller Panel > Agreement Info and compare it to the invoice line item. If there's a discrepancy, file a dispute with Trendyol seller support including the order number and amount; the review usually takes 5-10 business days.

The commission rate ranges from 5% to 40% depending on the product's category; programs such as seller level (a 2.5%-7% discount at Level 4) and women-entrepreneur status (a special rate of 1.80%-5.50%) also affect the rate.

Yes. When a product is returned, the commission charged on that order is automatically recalculated and passed back to you as a deduction on your next commission invoice; there's no cash refund involved.

When you receive a penalty/violation score notification, you need to file your dispute within 3 business days along with supporting documents (delivery records, customer messages, etc.); once that window passes, the score is processed permanently and your right to dispute closes.

Sellers who reach Level 4 status can pay 2.5% to 7% less than the standard commission rate in certain categories and brands — a direct profit-margin advantage, especially for high-volume sellers.
